Scientific Victoria is a fledgling political organization that advocates for the consideration of science in local government decision making. We believe this will improve governance and save tax dollars throughout the Capital regional District.
Our goal is to encourage elected officials to embrace information produced by valid scientific methodology. We would also like politicians to place less weight on conclusions drawn from pseudoscience. As the renowned author and astrophysicist, Carl Sagan, once stated:
“I maintain there is much more wonder in science than in pseudoscience. And in addition, to whatever measure this term has any meaning, science has the additional virtue, and it is not an inconsiderable one, of being true.”
